Work will be carried out on different lines of research to:
Improve the management, characterization, classification, and extraction of key materials from wind turbine blade waste.
Recycle wind turbine blades and other composite elements from the renewable energy sector.
Develop new, more efficient waste recycling and recovery technologies and optimize existing ones.
Develop composite remodeling methodologies using thermal forming, improving material performance through the application of functional coatings.
Develop alternative composite materials that are more easily recyclable, focusing on infusion technology.
Increase the recovery rate of key materials such as glass fibre and carbon fibre.
Incorporate recycled glass fibre and carbon fibre in intermediate products such as reinforcements (mats. rovings and fabrics) or semifinished products such as SMC and BMC.
Manufacture high-quality fabrics from recycled fibers.
Develop a new generation of lightweight cores from lightweight blade components.
Perform validation and demonstration for industrial scaling, integrating technical, economic, and environmental impact aspects.
